      Good question!

I did not pass a professional assessment to qualify me as a medical physicist. This was really upsetting at the time, and for a bit I didn’t know what to do. But I settled down into looking for similar jobs, but where I didn’t need this qualification. I got a job as a medical technician – for which I was actually over-qualified as it didn’t need a degree – took the pay cut from having a less qualified job, and then rose back of over subsequent years as I gained more experience in that field. From there I later moved into the job I have now, not in the medical field, and have continued to progress in this area. So I’ve got to where I wanted to be, just in a slightly different area.

Well, I applied to a scholarship to study two years abroad when I was in 10th grade and I did not get it. This was quite upsetting but I took it as an experience to learn from and applied to the same scholarship again the year after.

This time, I got the scholarship and it was definitely a life-changing experience as I went to study in India for two years at an international school, met lots of very interesting people and learn a lot from everyone!
