I think all are necessary and a lot of the bigger problems in the world now need solutions that combine aspects from all these sciences. I personally am most interested in biology but if you want to study biology it is almost always necessary to study at least some chemistry as well. I’ve never studied physics but I enjoy reading popular science stories (such as in New Scientist) about how physics is used to help us understand the world.

Like Ellie, I think all are necessary. And all are amazing in their own ways. I’ve never been as keen on chemistry, but that’s just me. I’d encourage anyone to learn what they can about science as it’s such a big part of life, even if you don’t realise it at first. And some of the coolest jobs have a firm base in science or its applications.

The sciences are the basis for all that we are, and the world that surrounds us! All technology and modern life is born from an understanding of our natural environment and mechanisms which have evolved. Now we have started to explore further and further into the three main sciences there are hundreds of different fields and scientists working in so many diverse and amazing areas its fascinating! If there is something you enjoy or have an interest in there’s sure to be a science behind it!
As Ellie and Samantha have said and I find this everyday in my job that although the core subjects are thought of as separate there is a lot of crossover between them. I work in a clinical science and use aspects of biology and chemistry everyday.
