  Well, for me it has been easy so far because I am just following the steps: I did my undergraduate degree, then a masters and now a PhD. What comes next, I am not 100% sure but I will decide it when the time comes and enjoy my PhD in the meantime!

  Always wanted to do something sciencey. Started off wanting to be an orthoptist – kind of an eye doctor. But I found out that my own eyesight was at a level that would make it quite hard for me as I wouldn’t be able to see some of the things and therefore wouldn’t fully understand some of the concepts. Then I went into medical physics, but after university and some professional training, I didn’t get the necessary qualification. That was hard, but I changed tack slightly, remaining in medical physics but at a lower level, until I moved into my current job some years later.
