• Question: How would robotic consciousness affect the world, positively and negatively?

      Good question! One I will try to answer with ethics Dean..

      The positive aspect, is that if we can replicate human consciousness with a robotic one – then we would have successfully mastered how the brain works. This would be an unbelievable scientific achievement, and would mean we could work out how to help people with mental disorders and brain damage.

      On the other hand… the negative aspect is a bit more complicated. Yo uwould imagine that if a robot had human like consciousness – then there would be certain safety measures put in place to stop them fighting back or being aggressive. However, is it ethical to have such safety measures? Is it right to pull the plug on a robotic consciousness? Interesting!
