  Hi Kaitlyn. Well, I think there would be a strong argument to say a robotic agent with a sense of time would be alive. However, I think the first step is just to get a robot to reproduce human behaviour such as tapping along to a beat, or reproducing the duration of an interval. Reproducing behaviour would not make an artificial alive – but it would be a good first baby step towards maybe having a self-aware robotic agent.
